I may only be in my early twenties, but I have learned a lot about Christmas spirit over the years. Growing up believing in Santa, then falling out of that belief, you start to think that the Christmas spirit/joy is no longer the same. However, as I was watching TikTok the other day (I am in my twenties and chronically online lol), I came across a video of someone talking about how they realized that growing up, Christmas wasn’t special because of all of the things, but rather because they were surrounded by people that made it special.
That was one of those things that kinda just slaps ya in the face, you know?! It made me sit and think about just how true that is.
Just like every day life, there will be times where you don’t feel the “joy”, but similar to the Christmas season, you can make it joyous. Surround yourself with people that will make you feel like a little kid, soaking up all of the wonder that comes on Christmas morning. Don’t sit around and wait for the magic to happen, because it won’t. Not without a little extra umph.
As many of you have also probably lost that belief in Santa that you once had, just like me, I don’t doubt that you may have also lost the belief in the wonders of everyday life as well. How sad can that get! Fill your life with people who will give you that sense of “wonder” again. Don’t sit around wishing that you were able to experience it like you used to, MAKE IT HAPPEN, and be joyous and grateful when it does happen!
Just like you had that belief in Santa, and the magic that surrounded the Christmas season, have the belief in the people around you who will make this season, and all seasons just as magical. Merry Christmas. -B
